生成 AI を用いたコーパス準拠語彙表の内容的妥当性の検証

英語教育の様々な分野において、学習用語彙表の開発がなされてきた。かつては、教員 や研究者の主観による語彙選定がなされてきたが、近年では、目標分野のデータを収集 し、コーパス言語学の手法を用いて、より客観的で科学的な語彙表の開発が広くなされ ている。こうして作成された学習用語彙表は、高頻度で汎用性の高い語彙を含んでいる と考えられるが、内容の妥当性については、十分に検証されてきたとは言い難い。特 に、大型語彙表になればなるほど、不適切な語彙を含んでいないかどうかの検証は困難 になっている。本発表では、ChatGPT-4o を用いて、大型のコーパス準拠語彙表の内容 妥当性を検証させる試行的プロジェクトの結果を報告する。分析検証を行ったのは、報 告者が過去に開発した ESP 工学英語語彙表、EVE9000 で、工学主要 8 分野における評 価の高い論文をデータとしたコーパスから頻度と汎用性をもとに開発した語彙表とな る。生成 AI の性質上、試行を繰り返すと抽出される語数やその内容が異なるが、大学生 中級レベルの頻出語彙 657 語を検証させた結果、工学英語語彙表にふさわしくない語と して約 40 語が抽出された。報告者と工学教育担当教員の 2 名でこれらの指摘の妥当性を 調査したところ、約 60％に使用分野の偏りが見られた。指摘には一定の妥当性が認めら れ、生成 AI が語彙表の質を高める可能性があることが示唆された。ESP 語彙教育におい ては、主な使用分野の情報提供など、より細やかな指導につながることが期待できる。

鈴木祐一 先生（早稲田大学）
タイトル：ISLA研究の知見を活かした英語授業デザイン：3つの視点から

大学の英語教育をより良くしたい―これは多くの教員が共有する願いです。その手がかりとなるのが、生徒の英語学習プロセスを科学的に解明しようとする第二言語習得（SLA）研究です。特に教室での指導場面に焦点を当てたInstructed SLA（ISLA）研究からは、私たちの授業実践に活かせる興味深い知見が次々と生まれています。私自身、大学で一般英語から専門科目まで様々な授業を担当してきましたが、その経験の中でISLA研究の知見が授業改善に大きな示唆を与えてくれました。この経験をもとに、最新の研究成果をどのように授業に活かせるか、みなさんと考えたいと思います。

本講演では、近著『あたらしい第二言語習得論』（研究社）をもとに、ISLA研究の知見を英語授業にどのように活かせるかを探ります。授業デザインに役立つ3つの視点として、(1)英語指導における優先順位（語彙・文法・発音）、(2)教室での教師の役割（協同学習の活用、ライティング添削の方法、学習者の個人差への対応）、そして(3)制約下での英語教授法（タスク・ベースの指導法、CLIL、練習の役割）を取り上げます。これらの視点から、最新のISLA研究と実践の関わりについて議論します。
